Interpreter and Translator - What'sthe Difference?

An Interpreter is a specially trained professional who renders a message spoken in one language into a second language with consistency and accuracy, and who abides by the Interpreter Code of Ethics.

A Translatoris a trained professional who can 'replace' a written document in one language with the written document in another language.

Both professions require, in addition to a high command of the native and a foreign language, different skills. Not every interpreter can be a translator, and the opposite is equally true. Moreover, not every bilingual person (i.e. person who speaks two languages) can be either an interpreter or a translator.

We do Certified and Notarized Translations for:

  • Schools and Universities
  • Immigration and Naturalization Service
  • Foreign Adoptions
  • Courts, Driver License Bureaus, etc.

The Language Bank members translate almost any language into English and, in turn, English into many target languages. We are committed to provide high-quality service and maintain high standards selecting our translators. Please keep in mind that translating is a complicated process, and our usual turn-around time is 5 business days.

For a free translation quote, please provide:

  • A copy of the document you want to translate
  • The language you want to translate the document into
  • Your full name and contact information: (e.g. e-mail address, day phone number, fax number)
Please send your translation request to Ms. Natalya Mytareva at translation@iiakron.org.

You need to make an appointment to arrange a translation.
Please call first:
(330) 376-5106 ext. 29 or email at translation@iiakron.org

If you need to schedule an interpreter (oral communication) please contact:
