Dora V. Gordon Scholarship Fund for Children and Families of the International Institute
Dora Gordon (1909 - 2003) was a volunteer for the International Institute's Education Program for over 20 years. Committed to the ideals of universal brotherhood, her students became lifetime friends and her home was a place of welcome to visitors from other countries.
In accordance with her wishes, her generous bequest was used to establish an endowment fund in 2003. The Fund, to be known as the Dora V. Gordon Scholarship Fund, is now used for scholarships for worthy students.
The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance in the form of educational scholarships for clients of the IIA and their children. This fund is intended to provide education for many years in the future. It also provides an opportunity for the gifts of donors to continue giving well into the future. The funds are entrusted to a reputable financial institution to conservatively earn interest and dividends. The principal remains intact and only the income generated by the fund is distributed each year.
